2 1/2 top plate topper

I've seen a ton of these for 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1 1/2 ton but this is the first 2 1/2 ton topper I've seen.
My understanding was that these were for tax purposes?? Either way for $20 it's a cool trinket.
